Bio

Iván Marino is an artist with a wide international recognition, professor and researcher, working in audio-visual art field (PhD Arts & Communication Science).

Between 1990-1995 he has received several grants and fellowships from Rockefeller & MacArthur & Antorchas foundations to research and produce audiovisual works linked to film, media-art and video-art.

In 1997 he was invited as Visiting Scholar by the Filminstitut (Universität der Künste, ex HDK), in order to research and produce experimental films.

In 1998-1999 he was also invited as Visiting Scholar by the School of Theater, Film and Television (University of California, Los Angeles), in order to study and produce hypermedia works.

In 2000 Marino moved to Spain with a grant from Ramon Llull University, given to promote his research and production of net-art and streaming-media-art.

Between 2002 and 2008 he did artistic stays at ZKM (Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie, Karlsruhe) and KHM (Kunsthochschule für Medien, Colonia) to produce and exhibit his pieces.

He has been living in Barcelona since the year 2000, devoted to artistic production, research and teaching in the realm of University.

His artistic work has received important international awards and has been exhibited in almost all the countries of America and Western Europe.
